Many small communities and low income areas in Alabama are faced with growing trends of both violent and nonviolent crimes. The founders of The Dannon Project believe that if there were a place willing to help those in dire need of obtaining life-changing skills, crime would eventually decrease; thereby, helping those individuals to become law-abiding, tax-paying and community-involved citizens. The Dannon Project is comprised of a team of consultants from a local for profit SDB Minority Owned Firm that has worked with nonprofits across the nation and abroad for 10 years. They have recognized that most nonprofits face tremendous challenges in an effort to successfully deliver services. This team of consultants not only identified negative trends, gaps and barriers in the delivery of quality services, but also developed and implemented proven successful strategies to bring agencies back into compliance and back on track. Kerri Pruitt serves as Executive Director of The Dannon Project. In 2004-2005, she provided training at the Jeff State Community College One Stop staff as well as other Jefferson County WIA providers. Participants were trained to use the customized Grants Management Suite. This program will be utilized to manage, track, monitor and report budget to actual expenses according to the grant expectatons in an effective and efficient manner. Mrs. Pruitt has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the laws and grants management expectations that govern the WIA process. This knowledge, coupled with years of experience in delivering quality service, will aid in identifying and mending the "gaps" in the existing WIA strategic plan and service provision. |
